Chennai, December 27: COLORS Tamil’s talk of the town Kodeeswari played host to its first ‘singapengal’ on Friday night even as hostess Radikaa was in for a pleasant surprise in the form of husband R Sarathkumar.
A post-woman from Cuddalore, Meena, made it to the Hot Seat during the Tsunami Episode on Thursday, participating in the game with a hope of transforming her life that with a hope to change her life that completely changed over a decade back when the calamity struck her family.
Meena had Dr. Vinatha Sai from Amirtha Vishwa Vidyapeetham with over 22 years of experience in education as the expert. But midway through the show, she surprised everybody, including Radikaa, by taking R Sarathkumar on a call. Even as her husband played ball with Meena, Radikaa appreciated her ‘mama’ for his hard working nature as a person and as a professional.
“They say that women are weaker, both, mentally and physically, but once they break these imaginary chains, they are the strongest and can achieve much more than they think they can.” Radikaa’s opening statement proved to be true, with Meena going on to take home Rs. 1,60,000/- by smartly using her second lifeline ‘Ask the Expert’ for the question
“Until 2019, which of the following were given special status by Article 370 of Indian Constitution?” Dr. Vinatha Sai guided her past this hurdle but Meena quit the game at the next question, even after using her ‘third lifeline’, the 50:50 option.
A touched Meena shared a warm moment with her father, showing her gratitude to him by gifting a shirt which was an unfulfilled dream of hers. She had promised him, a tailor, a shirt with her first salary but couldn’t due to the debts in their family.
The special contestant on Kodeeswari was a determined woman from Trichy: Swetha Mahendran hails from a backward community and broke many societal barriers by becoming the first ever graduate among them.
As a coordinator from the Narikuravar Education Welfare Society, she aspired for nothing but the right to be treated equally in the society and to education for all.
By exhausting all her lifelines, Swetha secured Rs. 3,20,000, a safe zone amount which she shall be using for providing basic amenities in one of her education facilities. In a record of sorts, Swetha was accompanied by 20 of her family members, who expressed their regard for Radikaa by presenting a ‘Ramar Tulasi Mani Maalai’.
Deeply moved by by their love and respect, Radikaa wore the ‘maalai; throughout the show.
Incidentally, the Friday episode also made Nabisha Beevi a happy woman, as she managed to take home Rs 1,00,000 despite not making the Hot Seat. Nabisha, however, earned the purse by answering all the five ‘Miss Minnal’ (Fastest Finger First) questions correctly. But she couldn’t play the game as she wasn’t the quickest with the answers.
