Manisha Koirala to play Parsi Woman in Netflix’s upcoming film ‘Maska’

Maska the upcoming Netflix film will star Manisha Koirala. The actress being a part of Lust Stories earlier. Her role in Maska will be of a Parsi Mother, named Diana

Speaking more about her film she says, she is playing an eccentric Parsi woman whose son has gone off-track. She is trying to preserve the roots and heritage of Parsi culture. Her character wants to preserve her Irani Cafe and restaurants as she wants to carry on her husband’s legacy. Her role in the film will be of a Parsi woman.

Other actors to be in the film Maska are Prit Kamani, Shirley Setia and Nikita Dutta.

Netflix is one of the popular platform. There are many hit films and web series being telecasted on Netflix. Recently Kiara Advani’s Guilty has hit the Netflix screens. The other Crime thriller is all set to telecast on March 20. Dance film Yeh Ballet of Sooni Taraporevala received positive response.

Netflix not only telecasts films but also shows like Taj Mahal 1989, What The Love with Karan Johar, Jamtara were on the hit lists. There are popular web series too in the Netflix. The other one to be popular was Sacred Games in 2018. This was most popular and entertaining among the youth.

Earlier when Srishti Behl Arya, Director International Originals at Netflix-India spoke about the Netflix. It’s importance of popular cast for the shows. She says it to indianexpress, she thinks when we talk about anything that’s global, we react to Indian icons. Their search is to find storytellers – some might have worked before, some haven’t. As reference to their recent successes Ghost Stories and Jamtara, it was agnostic of who was in it.

Telling more Srishti also speaks about the what does audience choose. She says, “Seventy per cent of the audience in India watches at least one film every week. We have an affinity for films and number is actually much more than other markets. We believed that Upstarts, which was based on startups, would create a lot of curiosity among the young audience. However, the result was less than optimal. On the other hand, Drive, which got heavily criticised has an incredible viewing on the platform.
